The Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (SVTC) has released its third annual 2012 Solar Scorecard, a report on the most eco-friendly and worker-friendly PV manufacturers.
SVTC has developed a comprehensive scoring system that includes workers’ rights, health and safety, disclosure of chemical use and emissions, sustainability and life cycle analysis and extended purchaser responsibility.
This year’s top company, China based Trina Solar barely supplanted US headquartered SunPower and German based Solarworld as the most eco-friendly PV/Solar companies in the world according to SVTC.
