In 1996, wind energy supplied a paltry 1,280 (MW) of power in the US. In 2004, that number had grown exponentially to 8,200 (MW). Today, wind power produces over 41,000 MW of energy nationwide.
The cumulative global wind production has increased from 6100 (MW) in 1996 to over 238,000 (MW) worldwide!
