While I have long been a proponent of rainwater harvesting using rainwater barrels, I’ve never quite been sure of the best method to distribute the water that is harvested other than through a jug or watering can.
Today’s Greenovation, however, might just be the best solution for distribution of harvested rainwater from barrels that I’ve seen to date.
Adaptable to most styles of rain barrels, Xylem’s RainPerfect pump can pump up to 100 gallons of water per 8-hour charge through a garden hose at 13 PSI. The pump is powered by Xylem’s RainPerfect 3.5 W solar panel, which charges a NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery that can be used for day or night operation.
