While low-VOC and zero-VOC characteristics have become very important characteristics in choosing paints, carpet products, and custodial supplies, there are a multitude of other items that we regularly encounter that contain harmful VOCs.
For example, inks used in printing contain VOCs that may be substituted for with low-VOC options.
The Worldwide Graphics & Sign Company have created their WorldGreen Graphics & Signs line to address this problem.
The WorldGreen signage line utilizes low-VOC inks that have been UV-cured on a variety of biodegradable substrate options to create more environmentally responsible signage options.
Two such biodegradable substrate options used for the line are Foamcore, a bioresin foam center with 15% recycled content, faced with Sustainable Forestry Initiative-certified paper, and X Board, a recycled paper, closed-cell honeycomb core held together with organic adhesives.
WorldGreen’s indoor signage is composed largely of post-consumer recycled corrugated cardboard, whereas their outdoor signage is intended to be short-term signage (up to four months), as a replacement for polymer-based substrates.
Next time you need to replace an existing sign or purchase a new one, consider Worldwide Graphics & Sign Company’s WorldGreen more environmentally responsible signage line.
