As I’ve pointed out in my articles in the past, the disparity between the numbers of products designed to manage and/or improve sustainability in a commercial setting and products designed to manage and/or improve sustainability in a residential setting is overwhelming as the vast majority are specifically aimed toward commercial settings.
Thus, when I find viable products designed to manage and/or improve sustainability in residential settings, I attempt to pass such products along to you since all of us manage the sustainability of our homes whereas only some of us manage the sustainability of commercial buildings.
If you are one of the few out there who does manage the sustainability of commercial buildings, you are probably aware of the multitude of programs that micromanage all the ins and outs of your buildings energy consumption; however, EcoDog, Inc.’s Fido Energy Watchdog program is one of the few I’ve seen specifically designed to manage and improve the sustainability of your home.
Fido Energy Watchdog monitors real-time energy consumption of each and every room in your house while simultaneously making personalized recommendations for reducing your energy consumption based on calculations from current utility prices.
Fido’s software can also be programed to monitor alternative energy inputs, such as kWh produced, from solar installations while calculating your utility savings from such. Besides, in order for any of us to manage our energy consumption, we must first learn how we are consuming that energy.
