This past weekend, Julia Louis-Dreyfus won the 2012 Emmy Award for best actress in a comedy for her role in the HBO sitcom “Veep.” One group of people who were happy to see her win the prestigious honor is the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA).
Last year, in preparation for the 100th Anniversary of America’s National Parks in 2016, Louis-Dreyfus and NPCA produced a series of public service announcements encouraging the public to protect and support National Parks.
Here are the 30-second and 60-second versions of the PSAs titled State of America’s National Parks:
NPCA’s 2011 “Made in America” report outlines the many threats facing our natural and historic treasures. Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s support and popularity could not have come at a better time for America’s National Parks, with deep funding cuts in the program being proposed in Congress.
