Turning 40 – Trust for Public Land (Interactive Map)

One of the most successful conservation organizations in the United States is the Trust for Public Land.

Founded in 1972 to primarily protect land in and around cities, over the years, the organization’s work has expanded to include projects from not only the inner city but also national wildlife refuges, wilderness areas and historical landmarks. TPL’s broad experience has made them a national leader and innovator in city park creation, state and local conservation funding, and using GIS for conservation planning.

Presently, more than 4250 park and conservation projects nationwide have been completed by TPL. Please check out the interactive map (link) below, describing the many projects and success stories that have accomplished in 40 years.
