2011 Was a Banner Year for Renewables in Texas

In 2011, the state of Texas saw a 13% increase in the amount of energy generated by renewable sources according to a report by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, the grid operator for 85% of the state. In megawatt-hours the total amount of renewable energy increased from 28 million MWh in 2010 to 31.7 million megawatt-hours in 2011.
